Facilities Design — Storage System Design/Redesign
Business systems are complex. FPI works to integrate equipment, people, buildings, organization, procedures, software, and knowledge to best serve the customer and meet company goals.
FPI consults with clients on facilities design in the following areas:
Inventory Storage Capacity Analysis: Facilities are a primary
element of capacity and are usually the most expensive and difficult elements
to change. FPI performs detailed inventory storage capacity analyses, solves
warehouses storage issues, and increases warehouse longevity.
Factory/Warehouse Layout: FPI performs assessment of current
process flows to optimize the use of resources, e.g., people and material handling
systems.
Economic Evaluations: FPI performs new project proposals to
justify capital investment.
Sample projects:
- Increased warehouse storage capacity by 25% by developing facilities
strategy analyses
- Reduced $1MM in leasing, and operating costs by
designing new storage areas, e.g., pallet racking, cantilever shelving, and
Garment On
Hanger
(GOH) mezzanine areas
- Planned, designed and managed warehouse operations start-up project
- Developed and implemented warehouse inventory management
system for a medical devices assembly facility
- Identified facility changes to meet storage/processing needs
for business growth
